A little about me and this blog
My name is Mitch. For years, I worked as a remote content writer for a digital marketing company based in Australia. Recently, my responsibilities evolved and now I play the role of a marketing coordinator. I am tasked to be the liaison between our clients and our team. Since I no longer have to write, I find more time on my hands to pursue something I have always wanted – running a blog.
But why Hermit Diary?
While my childhood friends talk about their dreams of building a family and having kids, my heart’s one true desire is to retire from society and be a hermit at 40. Well, not quite in the real sense of the word. It is more like a lifestyle that I want for myself – living in solitude. I work from home these days so I don’t go out often and meet humans, which pretty much sums up my reclusive existence. But I don’t want to go with impulse and pack my bags to move into the woods. I value my privacy, yes, but I also want to live comfortably. Hence, this blog is born to record my humble journey as a struggling digital nomad trying to make sense of her lofty plans and how to put them into existence.
Although I will mostly talk about my progress as I prepare for my hermit life, I might also tackle other subjects that will be of help to young people who wish to navigate this often uncertain world with purpose.
There will be tips on personal finance and financial independence, a subject I am passionate about lately and something I am still trying to master. I might talk about writing and marketing since these are fields I am most comfortable in. Who knows, you might even learn a thing or two about content marketing, social media, and digital marketing in general. Ultimately, there will be personal musings and some poetry thrown in, all for good measure.
I made this blog for myself and I am sharing this to the world. I don’t know what I will get out of this, except for the fact that my dreams make more sense if I stop keeping them to myself. I invite you to join me on this journey. Sláinte.
